Atlas of Plant Based is written by Atlas. He went vegan on Oahu, then thru-hiked the Pacific Crest Trail vegan in 2021: Campo on April 30, the Canadian border on September 5. Atlas is his trail name. The road to Oahu ran through Napa, Sacramento, New Zealand, Thailand and Cambodia; after it came Australia and the Cayman Islands, until COVID sent him back to California and, eventually, to the southern terminus. Since the border he has eaten his way through Telluride, Denver and the Florida Keys.

How this site checks things

• First-hand or labeled. A place is on this site because he was there, with the date, or the page says plainly where the information came from.
• Dates on everything. What he saw in 2021 is marked 2021. Anything checked since says when.
• Numbers over adjectives. Miles from his Strava log, prices from his receipts, and counts from hiker reports, with the denominator shown.
• No AI-made photos. Every photo on the site is his, from the trail or the trip in question.
